Longnor

Always a favourite this ride. Saturday we had great weather conditions. We even got two of the racing lads along to stretch their legs before Sundays race. Great to see Dan and Ashley out and the sat on the front keeping what wind there was off us.
Don't normally go to Longnor via the gliding club but as the weather was nice it seemed a shame not to.
Dinner at the chip shop in Longnor then home through Monyash and Ashford. Beers at the Nags.
Only one puncture but it was nice to see Jonny P after all those years.

Check your rims

Wet and foggy at the bus stop this Saturday. But not windy or too cold.
Problems started very early. About 10mins into the ride we heard a sound like a single shot from a gun. This turned out to be Mallorca Micks rim exploding! A large section of the breaking surface have come away fro the wheel. Lucky he wasn't going fast. I live the nearest from there so off I went to get him another rear wheel. We set off again but only got as far as the dam wall at Flask before Mick punctured, lucky not my rear wheel! Not Micks lucky day really but it did get better.

Monyash for lunch then all but two of us went up to the Grouse for a lemonade. Alex and myself put a loop in round Eyam then over Strines as the sun had come out making it the best part of the day.

I could kick myself for not getting a picture of Micks rim. But as luck should have it Nick got a pic of Micks bike in its hour of need. Love it.
