The day started over cast as we set off towards Don Valley and the lovely smooth roads there! The plan was to have lunch at the tea pot cafe which we later found out was not in Haxey. Lost but with a couple of iPhones and a Garmin we reverted to a trusty paper map to find the stables cafe which is excellent. By this time the sun had come out and we could eat outside.
The route back took in a nice loop through Climber park before stopping for refreshments at the Kelham Island pub at Shalesmoor. Nice pub that.
As we sat chatting outside the landlord pulled up in his 1960's double decker bus and promptly open the doors to let us have a look around. Amazing last from the past.
All in all a great days riding of around 85 miles.
